What sets Dru Yoga apart?
Dru Yoga distinguishes itself through several unique aspects. Firstly, it emphasises relaxed and soft joints, akin to tai chi, fostering flexibility and the smooth flow of subtle energy. Additionally, Energy Block Release sequences (EBRs) are incorporated, comprising easy-to-practice, flowing movements that aid in the release of physical, mental, and emotional tension. The foundation of Dru Yoga lies in the spine, as all movements originate from it, promoting a supple and healthy spine that supports the entirety of the yoga practice. Core features of Dru Yoga include the spinal wave and spinal twist, which contribute to spinal health and vitality. Another significant focus is placed on understanding and strengthening core stability. Moreover, Dru Yoga endeavors to balance the chakras, the energy centers of the body, and access the potent energy of the heart. Lastly, amidst the continuous movement, Dru Yoga incorporates powerful moments of stillness referred to as 'Dru points'.
Dru Yoga Classes
Sunday Evening
Yoga Class
This is a lovely class that focuses on the movement of the spine and I sometimes call this class Spinal Sunday. It is for all abilities and I use a lot of modifications to accommodate every student in the class. We have been an online community since October 2020 and I am lucky to have the same students who started as my back care class. The session itself consists of a warm-up, which we call activations; a sequence called an energy block release which focuses on the spine; some body preps before coming into the posture or postures; focussed breathwork and a lovely relaxation. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like any more information or if you would like to come along and try your first class for free. I look forward to hearing from you.
